A Powerful First Step in Aligning Standards, Instruction, Curriculum, and Assessment:

Wouldn’t it be great if we had standards that were “fewer, clearer, and higher” as described here?

  • Clearer is synonymous with “specific and understandable.”
  • Higher signifies “rigorous and more challenging.”
  • Fewer means “less than the number of state standards we currently have.”

Wouldn’t this be welcome news to classroom educators who have for years tried valiantly (and in vain) to ensure their students learn and demonstrate proficiency on all state standards?

Priority Standards is the answer to making this vision a reality!
